While we observed positive trends in metrics for some of our content, we encountered delays in Google’s indexation process for all our content. Notably, Google took 8-10 weeks to index the new pages. Upon investigation, we found that our content was not appearing on the client’s sitemap.

After discussions with the client, we learned that their SEO consultant had removed canonical tags to enhance the ranking of location-based pages. However, this caused confusion for Google in determining which pages to rank. Consequently, the client reinstated the canonical tags and requested indexing, which resulted in a delay in achieving the expected outcomes for our content. Upon manually requesting indexing for our content, the client observed improved impressions and clicks for those pages.
